This strikingly simple dress dates to the mid 1930's, and originally was just made from this pretty candlelight satin, with the lace being added at a later date. With so little ornamentation, the dress relied on cut to make it special, and it's the stylish cut that makes it look so modern today, over 70 years later. The dress is bias cut from the heavy satin, with curved seams at the waist and on the skirt. The neckline is a square cut, trimmed with cream lace. The back is cut into a vee, edged wit hlace in a keyhole finish. The sleeves are slim, with cuffs pointed over the hands. This dress is in excellent condition, with just a faint orange spot on the skirt front (very hard to see as you can see from the photos). When laid flat, it measures as follows: £350.00 This price includes recorded delivery within the UK. Use the button below to purchase online.
